Against a backdrop of rising screen use and rapidly evolving technologies, including AI and social media, safeguarding approaches are having to adapt to keep children safe. The Panel has seen how children’s experiences online play an important part in the wider safeguarding picture, with vulnerabilities crossing the boundary between their online and offline lives.

The session will explore how serious harm can develop in digital spaces, including child sexual abuse, exploitation and grooming, and share key learning to help practitioners build the confidence to recognise and respond to risks that are not immediately visible.
