Thresholds to Support – Safeguarding lead training part 2 | 15th September 2026

Target audience: Children’s workforce safeguarding leads.

Aims and objectives:

  • Recognise and appropriately refer cases of concern in line with Wolverhampton Safeguarding Together Partnership Thresholds of Need and Support document.
  • Examine and apply Wolverhampton’s threshold model and early intervention in a variety of case studies.
  • Describe the importance of embedding Early Help in practice.
  • Know when to request the involvement of other services.
  • Describe the importance of gathering, recording and sharing information to support Family Help / Child in Need (section 17) and Child Protection (section 47) referrals.
  • Recognise the importance of the WST Escalation Policy and when it is appropriate to use it.

Please ensure that you have completed A Shared Responsibility – Safeguarding lead training part 1 prior to attending this course.
