Professional Curiosity | 24th September 2026

Target audience: Children’s and Adults workforce.

Many recent local and national reviews have highlighted that those working and volunteering children, families and adults with care and support needs sometimes lacked professional curiosity when assessing and making decisions.  This session is to raise awareness of the need to be professionally curious when working with children, families and adults with care and support needs.

Aims and objectives:

  • Understand what professional curiosity is.
  • Have a greater in-depth knowledge of how a lack of professional curiosity can affect the child, young person, adult and family.
  • Understand ways to overcome barriers and challenges which surround professional curiosity.
  • Greater understanding of the ‘Think Family’ approach.
